Obituary of Glenn W. Sorensen

SORENSEN Glenn W. Age 90, of Woodbury, MN died peacefully on January 1, 2017. Preceded in death by his son-in-law, Daniel Gorton and sister-in-law, Joyce Sorensen. Survived by his wife, Marie; daughters Lynn (William) Gorton, and Julie Gorton; brother Warren (Helen), grandsons Austin (Kristi), and Ian Gorton,; great-grandson, Liam; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his pal, Mittens. Glenn served in the Navy in WWII and taught in St Paul area schools for many years. Outgoing and sociable, Glenn was an active community volunteer and member of Lutheran Church of Peace. As a life-long big-band jazz enthusiast, Glenn hosted the Jazz Makers radio show that aired locally for many years. The family extends its thanks to the nurses and staff of the Ramsey County Care Center. Private service at Fort Snelling and a gathering in Glenn's honor will be held later this spring.
