Obituary of Elaine M. Bertie

Elaine M. Bertie, 92, of Duluth and formerly of Babbitt died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017 at her residence at Ecumen Lakeshore. She was born May 25, 1924 in Onnela Mich., to Jacob and Sophie Junttila. She graduated from High School in Painesdale Mich. She married Raymond Bertie on Feb. 5, 1948. She and her husband raised their family in Babbitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; and her brother, Jack. She is survived by sons, Dennis (Sharon) Bertie of Two Harbors, Gerald (Mary) Bertie of Eagan Minn., and Joseph (Jerri) Bertie of Apple Valley Minn.; daughters, Eleen Ray of Ft. Worth Texas, Karen Bertie (Joe Radtke) of Superior and Ann Fiega of Apple Valley Minn.; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Norway Township Cemetery in Norway Mich.
