Obituary of Donabel Jane Olson

Donabel Jane (Paulus) Olson, 93, of Pike Lake died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 in Essentia Health in Duluth. She was born on Jan. 10, 1924 in Superior. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Olson; her son, Steven Polo; her brother, Edward "Buddy" Paulus; and sister, Bette Johnson. She is survived by her brother, James Paulus of Munger; her sons, Donald Polo of Pike Lake and Forrest Olson of South Range; daughters, Cathleen Olson of Hawaii, Janet Chamberlain of Los Angeles and Marilyn Slattengren of Pike Lake; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and other relatives, friends, and, "Tidbit", her special companion. D-Bell loved spending time with family and friends. Her fun-filled spirit enriched all the lives she touched. She will be greatly missed. GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 2 p.m. until the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth. Inurnment at Canosia Cemetery will take place in the Spring.
