Rick Fischer

Obituary of Rick Von Fischer

Rick George von Fischer, 63, passed away suddenly on February 5, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, brother and looked forward to the birth of his first grandchild. Rick loved to travel with his family, exploring new places and restaurants. He had a passion for coaching and sports, especially cheering on the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Twins. When his family and friends talk about Rick, they speak of his kindness, joy for life, generosity, infectious laugh, and most of all, his love. He always made those he came in contact with feel loved and welcome, whether at work as a Pharmacist or in everyday life. He loved spending time by the ocean in Cabo, near the mountains in South Carolina, and anywhere in Minnesota. The loss of Rick leaves a huge void in our lives, but he is a man who has taught many people simple life lessons; the importance of family, of working hard, how to relax with some coffee or a drink and enjoy life. And most of all, he taught us all that you should never take time together for granted. He is survived by his wife Mary, son Nick, daughter-in-law Sarah, sister Sandy (Gary) Crippen, nephews Todd (Keren) Winter and Chad (Stephanie) Winter. The family will be holding a private family service in the future, but we ask for your prayers as we navigate through this difficult time. We also want to thank our friends and family for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital under Rick von Fischer.
