Obituary of Janet R. Zitnick

Janet R. Zitnick, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, 73, passed away February 5, 2017 in her home in Minneapolis. Janet was a photo journalist, communications and human resources professional during a career that spanned nearly fifty years. Most recently Janet was communications coordinator for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in St. Paul. Janet was active in the community, spending many joyful hours with fellow worshipers at St. Paul's UCC in St. Paul, volunteering with The League of Women Voters and Affirming Life Cancer Support Group. Janet enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with family and photography. Janet was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Steven, daughter Janet Shaver (Kurt), son David (Kara) and grandsons Maxfield and Julian; and sister, Virginia Miller, and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on 2/19/2017 at St. Paul's UCC, 900 Summit Ave, St. Paul. Memorials to American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
