Obituary of David Falk

Dave Falk, age 73, of Waconia passed away on July 13, 2018, on his farm. Born May 20, 1945, in Waconia, he was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Myrtle; brother, Dennis; and daughter, Jennifer. Survived by his wife of 35 years, Jill; daughter Jessica (Brian); sons Brian (Laura) and Christopher (Sarah). Born and raised in Waconia, Dave graduated from Waconia High School. Following high school, he attended Minnesota State University, Mankato and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. For over 35 years, Dave served as CEO of Transport Security, a cargo security company based in Waconia. He still went into the office every day. As a lifelong resident of Carver County, Dave was passionate about giving back to his community and oversaw numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing it for the good of its residents. During his life, he was an active member of the Waconia Chamber of Commerce, Waconia School Board, Ridgeview Foundation Board of Directors, the Moravian Church Board of Trustees, the Security Bank & Trust's Board of Directors, and was a member of the Ridgeview Foundation Founder's Society. In 2002, he received the Waconia Community Service Award for his volunteer efforts and in 2016 he was awarded the Mankato State Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. Dave loved spending time on his farm and you could typically find him on a tractor nearby. He enjoyed traveling with his family, watching tractor pulls at the Carver County Fair and playing cards. Dave always had a joke to tell and a word of advice to share. Visitation will be on Friday, July 20 from 4-7 p.m. and a memorial service on Saturday, July 21 from 10-11 a.m., both at the Waconia Moravian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Moravian Care Foundation.
