Obituary of Michael E. Salo

Michael E. "Mike" Salo, 58, of Twig, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017 in Cape Coral, Fla. He was born on Nov. 18, 1958 in Duluth to Jack and Nata (Reynolds) Salo. He graduated from Hermantown High school in 1977. He was a member of the Heat and Frost Insulators (Local 49) for 40 years. Mike enjoyed calling friends and family daily, coaching soccer, being on the water, and spending time with his grandkids. He was very proud of his three children who are members of the 148th Fighter Wing. He was preceded in death by his dad, Jack Salo; step-mom, Peggy Salo; mother, Nata and two step-brothers, Larry and John Robillard. He is survived by wife of 36 years, Carla Salo; children, Briana (John) Wiita, Chris (Noel) Salo, Jessica (Jerad Bachmeier) Salo; grandchildren, Logan, Mayson, Braydon Salo, and Averi Wiita; sisters, Sam (Troy) Eliason, and Barbara (Gary) Menges; brother, Mark (Dawn) Salo as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
