Obituary of Alec John Lakedon

Lakedon, Alec John Jr., 64, of Mora, MN, passed away at his home on Feb 12, 2017 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Memorial Service will be Sat, Feb 25, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church (2088 MN-70, Mora, MN 55051) at 11am with a visitation at 10am. John was born Nov 30, 1952 to Alec and Lily Lakedon in Crookston, MN. His family moved from Fertile, MN to the Iron Range where he attended Hibbing High School and graduated in 1971. Shortly after graduation, John was drafted and enrolled in the US Navy where he served for 8 years. He was employed at Milltronics as an electronic specialist for over 34 years. He married Joan Hengel in 1994 and live in St. Louis Park. In 2012, they retired to Mora, MN. John is preceded in death by his father, Alec John Sr. and dog, “Sweetie Pie”. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Joan; children, Angela (Jeff Hinrichs) Lakedon of Minneapolis and Daniel (Kaziah) Lakedon of Braham, MN; mother, Lily; stepdad, George Concant of Kelly Lake; grandchildren, Asher and Annabelle; 2 brothers, 5 sisters, many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and good friends. His hobbies include: building and flying kites and drones, fishing, long walks, weight lifting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Memorial preferred to the family.
