Obituary of Douglas J. Pederson
Age 77 of Stillwater, MN formerly of Duluth, MN
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 20, 2017.
He was born in 1939 in Duluth, MN to Helmer and Dorothy Pederson.
Doug graduated from Denfeld High School in 1957, and went on to pursue a BBA at UM-Duluth.
Doug served in the Army Reserve for many years as a medic. He went on to become a paramedic for Wilcox Ambulance before joining St. Mary’s Hospital as the Director of the Emergency Room.
In 1988 Doug moved to East Grand Forks, MN where he became the Executive Director for Emergency Medical Services and Coroner for Polk County. Before retiring in 2010 he worked for Altru Health Systems in Grand Forks, ND.
Doug had an exceptional sense of humor. He loved cooking, playing the organ, and spending time at the lake with his family.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his sons Don Pederson of Phoenix, AZ., Tim Pederson of Sioux Falls, SD., daughters Jenna Pederson (Karl) of Stillwater, MN and Kristy Pederson (Jim) of Albert Lea, MN and 8 grandchildren.
Special friends Dennis and Sandy Jokinen and John Hartwick.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Oak Park Senior Living and St. Croix Hospice/Keri.
Per Doug’s request there will be no services at this time. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
