Obituary of Vernon Dale Smitley

Smitley, Vernon D. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandpa and Great Grandpa. Born Jan. 6 1929 in Mt Pleasant PA., A Korean War Vet and Retired Custom Home Builder. Survived by wife Joanne of 63 years, 3 children, Dale (Sharon Berthiaume), Lynn (Jon Norberg) and Paige (Don Lincoln), 10 grand children and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, 5 siblings, great granddaughter Hazel Mae. Vern was a prominent custom home builder in the East St Paul metro area for more than a quarter of a century. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday March 1 2017 at 10:00 am at the First Evangelical Free Church of Maplewood, 2696 Hazelwood St, Maplewood Mn, 55109. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers. Private Internment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
