Obituary of Judith A Myrold

Judith A Myrold passed away Jan 30th, 2023, from complications of pneumonia at Methodist Hospital, St Louis Park MN, following an 18 month illness.  She was a resident of Harrison Bay Senior Living, Mound Mn at the time of her death.

Judy had an interesting and eventful life with her husband Les and 3 children.  She was a devoted wife, mother, housekeeper, musician, commercial cook, and CNA through-out her 77years of life.

They began married life in Crookston MN after Les completed his military service. In the late 60's she performed as a singer, dancer, and tamborine player in Les' band, the Blue Boys.

Employment opportunities led them to Bismarck/Mandan ND in early '71 where they set-up housekeeping and she performed as a drummer in Les' band, Myrold-Sullivan Trio.

Judy began working full-time outside the home in '86, working as a cook & hostess at Bonanza Restaurant in Mandan. In '87, she and Les purchased a Sign business and located it at West Acres Mall in Fargo ND.  After 2 years, they sold the business and returned to Mandan ND where she earned a GED and CNA degree, leading to a CNA position at Med Center One in Mandan ND.

Her husband retired in 2006, and they moved to Alexandria MN where she worked as a cook and CNA at Peaceful Bliss Care Center, retiring in 2014.

Over the years, Judy traveled with Les to most of the major US cities on business trips, vacations, and family visits.  She loved arts and crafts and produced many beautiful, creative pictures, paintings, and flower vases. She loved animals, and had her dog Snickers, and 2 cats, Chancey and Caty, as constant companions. Judy’s faith was stong and she was always active in church activities in the various places where she lived, until her Parkinsons sadly limited her mobility.

She is survived by her husband Les, Mound MN, two sons, Jeffrey of Fargo ND and Jason of Minneapolis MN, and daughter Lisa (Steve) Mosing of Minneapolis, 4 grandchildren, Jordan, Dylan, Ava, and Kellen and 1 great-grandchild Landon, two sisters, Linda (Roy) Malkosky of Downers Grove IL,  Janice (Joe) Pellis of Greensburg PA, two step-brothers David Miller of Irwin PA, and Dennis Miller of CA, and one step-sister Judith Basher of Warroad MN.

She was preceded in death by her father Lester Illgen, her mother Joyce (Oliver) Miller, brother Jerry Illgen, sister Cheryl Malcosky, brother Richard Illgen, half-brothers Timothy Miller and Bruce Miller.
