Obituary of John Hiram Burch

John Hiram Burch, age 71, of Minnetonka, MN, passed away on February 28, 2017. He was born in Red Wing, MN, grew up in Cannon Falls, MN, joined ROTC while at the U of MN and graduated with a BS degree in Industrial Arts Education. He was commissioned 2nd LT in the USAF, spent four years active duty before joining the USAFR retiring as LT COL after 20 more years. John had been employed by Control Data, Norstan, American Express and Ameriprise. He especially enjoyed rebuilding and upgrading the family summer cabin on Big Island, Lake Minnetonka. He was preceded in death by parents John W. and Jeannette (Scriver) Burch of Cannon Falls; survived by wife Barbara of 50 years; daughters Kelli (Reed) Nelson, Wendy (Scott) Sirovy, Dawn (Brian) Dahlberg; grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyle, Kristia and Kurt Sirovy all of the Minneapolis area; and sister Anne (Steve) Burt of Florida. A memorial service will be held at Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 on March 6, at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church of Cannon Falls.
