Obituary of Scott Douglas Parish

Scott Douglas Parish passed away on January 15, 2023. Scott was born on September 27,1965 in Mesa, AZ and grew up in Cozad, NE. He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a degree in Biology. Following college, he began a career as a high school coach and science teacher in Minneapolis, MN. Later he worked at schools in Burlington, WY and Omaha, NE. In 2000, he married Karin Wold and together they had three children, Ella, Max, and Chloe. The family lived in Lincoln, NE for ten years before moving to the Twin CIties where Scott worked in sales for various companies.

Scott was a gifted athlete in high school, competing in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially any that his own kids were playing. One of his favorite hobbies was fly fishing. He spent some of his happiest times camping and fly fishing in the Wyoming mountains. Scott had a great sense of humor, was a huge dog lover, a loyal friend, and a devoted Husker fan. Most of all, Scott loved his children deeply. His loss is immeasurable and he will be greatly missed.

Scott is survived by his former wife, Karin Wold and their children, Ella, Max, and Chloe Parish, father, Ken (Sheryl), brother, Greg (Coralee Torrence), and sister, Holli (Chris) Nelson, aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. He is preceded in death by his mother, Saralyn.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 2pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4100 Lyndale Avenue S, Minneapolis, MN 55409. A visitation at 1pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Karin Wold for the Parish children’s education fund or to a charity of your choice.
