Obituary of Norman Kenneth Duvick

On Monday, January 23rd, 2023, Norman Kenneth Duvick, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at age 83.

He was born on July 1st, 1939, to Einar and Margrete Duvick, who preceded him in death, along with his only sister Ellen. Norman married Diane Schiltz in May of 1963. Together they raised three children in Eagan; Daniel (Karrie), Deborah, and Todd (Jane). They have nine grandchildren; Mckayla, Alicia, Jessica, Megan, Katelyn, Alexandra, Josh, Colton, and Paige.

Norman was passionate about old cars, especially his classic 1958 Chevy Impala. In 1977 he purchased Amigo Service Center in South Minneapolis. Working there for over twenty years, Norman gained the community's trust and became a respected business owner and friend to many. Upon retirement, he spent most of his time enjoying the lake-life in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. He was a talented woodworker who taught himself how to use a lathe and turn pens and other pieces which are now treasured gifts of his family and friends.

Norman had a sparkle in his eye and valued a firm handshake.  He was honorable, kind and witty.  He was greatly loved and will be missed.

Services to celebrate his life will be held at The Cremation Society of Minnesota on Saturday, March 11th, 2023. 7110 France Avenue South, Edina, Minnesota 55435.  Visitation from 12-1 pm. Service at 1 pm and a light lunch to follow.
