Edna Eidum

Obituary of Edna Eidum

Eidum, Edna (Striepe) 76, of Burnsville, MN, passed from this life into new life on the morning of February 28, 2017. Even as Edna struggled with cancer for the last several years of her life, she lived her days with kindness, elegance, and grace. Edna (Striepe) Eidum was born in Brenham, Texas on April 29, 1940, the daughter of John and Ruby (Sonnenburg) Striepe. She married Charles Eidum in Priddy, Texas on August 12, 1962. Edna was a faithful partner to her pastor husband, serving in congregations in Texas, Minnesota, and North Dakota, and as missionaries to Brazil. Edna's gift for music led her to serve as organist, choir director, and Sunday School teacher in many of the congregations they served. Edna also shared her love of music by teaching piano, other instruments, and voice to hundreds of students over the years. God blessed Edna with so many abilities. Beyond her great talent in music, she also excelled at creating artwork in many different forms. Edna played for and created banners and other art for national church conventions for many years. Edna enjoyed playing the piano, doing jigsaw and word puzzles, playing Scrabble and Canasta, spending time with her Lord, and taking care of her family and friends. In her motherly role, she prayed for her children like no one else has. Edna will forever be remembered by her four children, Kelly (Rafael) Santana, John (Tiffany) Eidum, Karri (Juarez) Ferreira, James (Cindy) Eidum, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchil-dren, and two sisters, Eunice (Roy) Evans and Ruth (Larry) Schwartz. Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Minnesota Valley Church in Lakeville, MN on Sunday, March 12, at 2:30 p.m.
