Obituary of Linda Lee Elder
Linda changed the Channel at 6pm on January 3rd, 2023, after an acute illness, and now lives forever in our hearts. She was surrounded by her loving family and amazing nurses at Southdale Fairview Hospital and Hospice. Linda was 72 years young.
Born in Minneapolis to Berneva and Russell Wensole, Linda enjoyed much happy childhood time with her grandparents Ella and Ben Ewest, and her special ‘big sister’ Aunt Sandra. Linda is a graduate of South High School, Minneapolis. She was swept off her feet by, and married, Larry Thomas Elder on June 26, 1970, and raised three wonderful children; Teasha Lea, Megan Lyn, and Justin William, adding two exceptional sons-in-law, John Lamont and Galen Sjostrom and their families to her life.
Linda’s calling was genealogy, and she compiled many great family histories that she shared with her ‘extended family’ around the country. She met many of those relatives, and had hoped to hit the road with her recently retired designated driver and meet many more.
At Linda’s request there will be no funeral service. There will be a Memorial Gathering on Tuesday February 14, 2023 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue South, Edina, from 1-4pm.
Note: Linda and I want everyone to be healthy and happy. We respect and encourage everyone’s caution and concern with Covid; if you don’t feel comfortable in groups at this time, please take care of yourself and your loved ones first. Know that your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
