Obituary of Carl S. Peterson

Carl S. Peterson, 89, lifelong resident of Duluth passed away peacefully Friday, March 3, 2017. He was born Aug. 17, 1927 in Duluth to Edward and Ethel Peterson. Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees, serving during World War II. He retired from U.S. Steel after 28 years of service and later from Chris Jensen after 10 years. Carl was a lifelong member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell, Norman and Robert; sisters, Doris Peterson and Ruth Stynsberg. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce; five children, Linda (Tim) Kaspari of Duluth, Debra (Reid) Robillard of Eveleth, Kim Peterson of North Port, Fla., Lon Peterson of Foxboro, Wis., and Tracey (Kevin) Hanson of Duluth; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 10 a.m., until the 11 a.m., memorial service Monday, April 17, in Redeemer Lutheran Church, 9503 Grand Ave., Duluth.
