Obituary of Walter Wayne Follis

Walter Wayne "Buck" Follis, 77, of Brule, Wis., passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 6, 1939, to Walter and Fern (Lyons) Follis. On Nov. 2, 1957, he married Shirley Taipale of Oulu and they celebrated 58 years of marriage. Buck was a lifelong resident of Brule. In his early years he did a lot of guiding on the Brule River and later worked as a caretaker for a private estate on the Brule. He worked fire control for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for many years and was a federal bear and wolf trapper. His winters were spent beaver trapping and he was most well-known for his trapping skills and vast knowledge of the outdoors. Buck was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law and two great-grandsons. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children Kim (Ken) Senske, Joe (Vicki) Follis, Debora (David) Brygger, Keith (Jennifer) Follis and Dann Follis; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his brother Jim (Joyce) Follis. Celebration of Buck's life: Saturday, March 18, visitation begins at 10 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. and lunch at noon at the Brule Town Hall 5814 S Maple St. Brule.
