Obituary of Richard Maurice Hoover

Richard Maurice Hoover of Brooklyn Center, MN, died March 7, 2017, at The VA Hospital in Minneapolis, MN from complications of diabetes. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Christian Life Center, 8025 Medicine Lake Road in Golden Valley, MN, at 11:00 am. Richard was born April 7, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri to Mamora “Muffy” Quick Hoover and Maurice “Herb” Hoover. Richard graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1964 and attended University of Missouri and later University of Minnesota. He served in the United States Army from 1966 through 1968. Richard moved to Minnesota and Wisconsin regions after his military service, making that his home. He married Ruth Spalding of Brooklyn Center, lived there and later moved to Union Grove, WI, but returned to Brooklyn Center in 2015. His professional career in production management and quality control was a good fit for his intelligence and character traits of efficiency, organization and detail. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; children, Susanne and Richard Boretsky of Florida; mother, Mamora “Muffy” Hoover of Kansas City; brother, Steve Hoover (Sandy) of Kansas City; niece, Melissa Hoover of Atlanta; mother-in-law, Mary Spalding; brothers-in-law, Matt Spalding (Sue) and Tom Spalding (Cheryl); numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
