Obituary of Karol Ann Gerard

Karol Ann Gerard, 64 of Duluth passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, after a battle with cancer. Karol was born Sept. 20, 1952 in Duluth. She graduated from Denfeld High School where she was First Chair Violinist in the orchestra. She later graduated from the College of St. Scholastica and became a registered nurse, working at Viewcrest Health Center. With her husband, Mark, she ran Specialized Haulers Inc., previously Gerard Trucking. Karol was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church but most of all lived for raising her four children and being a wonderful grandmother to her nine grandchildren. Karol was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Leone Skorich. She is survived by her husband, Mark; children, Karen (Chris) Windle, Michael (Kim Traen), Laura Vesel and Nicholas (Jessica); nine grandchildren, Ava, Carys, Noelle, Aubrey, Easton, Ella, Gemma, Caleb and Thomas; her sister, Diane Olson. GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, March 18, in Bethany Baptist Church, 6700 Grand Ave., Duluth.
