Obituary of Herbert Alfred Restorff

Herbert Alfred Restorff, born July 2, 1928 in Butler, SD. Entered the Kingdom of Heaven on July 15, 2018, surrounded by loving family. Served in the Air Force from 1947-1950, in Alaska. On March 23, 1951, he married Gladys Quiring. He later married Sanjia Amundson (Nelson) on November 4, 1974. Herb worked as an auto mechanic for 27 years in St. James, MN and then as a pin-setter mechanic at the Burnsville Bowl. He was a long-time member of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. His pastimes include golfing, bowling, playing cards, fishing and reading. Preceded in death by parents, Richard and Sigrid; infant son, Thomas; brother, Earl; sisters: Viola, Gladys and Dorothy; father-in-law, LaVerne Nelson; brother-in-law, James Nelson and nephew, Kyle Nelson. Survived by wife, Sanjia; children: Neil (Jaime), Dean (Diane), Nancy (Leland), Jennie (Curt) and Paul (Sandy); siblings: LeRoy (Carol), Robert, Darlene and Goldie; mother-in-law, Pansy Nelson; sisters-in-law, Connie (Jim), Ivah and Jill (Tom); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a multitude of dear friends. Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 7160 S. Robert Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service at church. Private interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
