Obituary of Shirley Timm

Shirley (Bode) Timm was born on August 4, 1931 the daughter of Alfred and Gertrude Bode, in Posen Township, Yellow Medicine County, Echo, Minnesota. She was baptized, attended parochial elementary school, and was confirmed at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Posen Township, Wood Lake, Mn. Following graduation from Echo high School, she attended Bethany Lutheran Collage, Mankato Minnesota and taught in several Lutheran elementary schools for 7 years. Shirley was married to Lowell Timm May 1, 1954. She assisted Lowell with the farming operation for 26 years, and worked as a nursing assistant in nursing homes in Belview, Mn. and Alexandria, Mn. for 18 years. Shirley and her husband Lowell retired in 1995 and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. In 2004 they moved back to Carlos, Minnesota and later to Alexandria, Minnesota. She was very active in the churches where she was a member in numerous positions, including church council, ladies activities and quilting. Her hobbies included gardening, volunteer work, and watching a Twins game with her cat "Tena." On March 16, 2017 Shirley died at Evansville Care Campus at the age of 85. Shirley is survived by 5 children, Robert and (Jill) Timm of Alexandria, Mn. JoAnn Siverling of Rochester, Mn. David and (Lynn) Timm of Carlos, Mn. Paul Timm of Bloomington, Mn. Kenneth and partner (Jill Joyce) of Duluth, Mn. 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 sisters: Geraldine Heimark of Milaca, Mn. Mary Olson of Osage, Mn. Dorothy and (Paul) Ims of Echo, Mn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Timm, her parents, Alfred and Gertrude Bode of Echo, Mn. and one brother, Alfred G. Bode of Echo, Mn. Funeral services to be held on March 25, 2017 at Trinity Lutheren Church, Carlos, Mn at 11:00 a.m. Visitation at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carlos, MN. at 10:00 a.m. prior to funeral services.
