Obituary of Janet DeMotts

DeMotts, Janet age 93, of Burnsville, MN passed away March 20, 2017. Janet was born, October 24, 1923 near Pella, IA to loving parents Bert and Jennie Vande Kieft. She graduated from Pella High School and attended Central College, Pella, IA. She was married to her devoted husband Howard DeMotts (Waupun WI) for 72 years. She taught third grade in Moravia, IA and later worked in the communications department of Hope Presbyterian Church, Richfield. She loved her family, friends, travel, golf, and spending (17) winters in North Port, FL. Preceded in death by sisters Margaret (Mickey) Nelson and Bea DeJong. She is survived by Howard, son John (Anne), daughter Diane DeMotts Riedesel (Lynn), grandchildren Matt and Jamie DeMotts, step- grandchildren Zon Dunn, Shaun and Thor Riedesel, Nomi Voss, and 16 step-great grandchildren. Janet was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church for 60 years. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Hope Presbyterian, 7132 Portland Avenue, Richfield, MN 55423, April 7th at 11:00 am. Lunch to follow. Memorials may be directed to Hope Church.
