Obituary of Charles H. Betz
Charles passed away on the 23 of March 2017 at age 73 from Heart Attack.
He was preceded in death by infant daughter Tammy Jo. Parents Helen E. Betz, Woodrow K Betz Sr. He is survived by his wife Donna Betz of 45 years. Sons Charles H. Betz IV wife Angela, Grandson Vincent. Son Anthony A. Betz. Brothers George Schwelling wife Susan. Woodrow K. Betz wife Paula. Sister Dorthey A. Schoeller. With many Nieces and Nephews. Charles wore many different hats in his life from Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather.
He worked at the Twin Cities Ford Plant for 27 years. Was in the U.S. Army twice. He was an Armor Crewman in a Tank from age 17-23 in Germany during the Cuban Missile Conflict. Reenlisted in 1975 when the Ford Plant was shut down we was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado for four years. He was a Girl Scout Leader and went to Girl Scout Camp he was Charlie the Tuna. He was a Sargent and going to auto motive school when we decided to return to the Ford Plant. Charlie was a St Paul Police Reserve Officer for fourteen years also a Cub Scout Leader with his sons. He owned his dream car a 1923 Ford Model T original body. He was a member of The North Star State Model T Club in South St Paul. In the year 2000 while at home because his Mother had passed Charlie had a stroke and an hour later a heart attack at the hospital. He retired in 2001 from Ford Motor Plant.
We are having a gathering of family and friends on April 6, 2017 at 1500 Thomas Lake Point Road. In the Club House in Family Room from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Interment at Fort Snelling Cemetery later time.
