Obituary of Thomas Frederick Frazier

Thomas Frederick Frazier, age 58, passed away in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 24th after a four month battle with cancer. Born in Boston on September 23, 1958, Tom grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts, graduating Arlington High School in 1976. He studied criminal justice at Northeastern University and then headed south spending four years as a police officer in LaGrange, Georgia and three years as a police sergeant in Lannett, Alabama. Tom then took to the open road serving as a long distance truck driver (owner/operator). During the next few years, he resided in Georgia, Alabama, Pennsylvania and Illinois. An avid reader and writer, Tom penned a novel in the bunk of his truck. In 2006, he relocated to Minnesota where he began working for Metro Transit as a bus operator. A natural-born teacher, he quickly advanced to driver instructor and last year was promoted to Transit Operations Supervisor, a coveted position which he loved. Tom was very passionate about motorcycling and once said, “My favorite thing is to get on my Harley Electraglide and just ride off into the country, making turns at random, breathing deeply of the fresh air, maybe getting lost, and totally reinvigorating myself in the process”. Tom is predeceased by his brother, Bill Frazier; his parents, John and Patricia Frazier; and his aunt Marguerite Frazier. His greatest love in life was for his partner and children, about whom he spoke often and with great pride. He is survived by his loving life-partner, Jill Isaac, his six children, Tommy Frazier (Tristan); Kevin Frazier (Lindsay); Edward, Marguerite, and Patrick Hesser; and Jan Mae Alvarez; six grandchildren; sister, Susan (Jeff Blum); sister, Peg (Craig Ballentine). Tom will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Summer memorial service to be announced.
