Obituary of Mabel Meritta McLean

Mabel Meritta McLean was born in Cloncurry, Queensland, Australia on January 26, 1926 to Stanley and Ivy Long (Gilmour). She met John William McLean (Bill) while he was stationed in her hometown during World War II, they married in 1945. Bill passed away in 1976 when Mabel was only 50 years young, leaving her to raise 12 year old Andy. She passed peacefully with her family at her side on March 31, 2017 at the age of 91. She is survived by her loving children; Barbara (Curtis) Mihm of Winona, MN, John (Ginger) McLean, San Diego, CA & Andrew (Debra) McLean, Cottage Grove, MN, Grandchildren; Brian Mihm, Derek (Meredith) Mihm, Janelle (Brian) Perry, & Adam McLean and Great-grandchildren, Josh & Conner Perry, Kaden Krause, Landon Mihm and Hazel & Ray Mihm. Mabel also leaves behind her loving, younger Sister, Phyllis Cox & numerous “rellies” in Australia. Mabel will also be remembered by many friends whose lives she touched along the way at; the YMCA of Woodbury, Woodbury Peaceful Grove United Methodist Church, Presbyterian Homes of Woodbury, White Pine Memory Care of Cottage Grove, Applebee’s of Cottage Grove, City of Cottage Grove, Healthpartner’s of Woodbury, extended family of Debbie, Classmates of John from Hibbing & Johnson High Schools class of 1965 & numerous other friends and family of John, Barb & Andy. Funeral Service will be at Woodbury United Methodist Church at 11am Tuesday, April 11th. Visitation one hour prior to service at the church. In June, Mabel will be buried alongside the love of her life, John William McLean in Hibbing Minnesota. Memorials preferred to Healthpartners Hospice or Woodbury Peaceful Grove United Methodist Church. From our family: We have been touched so deeply by the outpouring of love from many people with whom our Mum, Grandmother & Great Grandmother shared her life. Your kind expression of sympathy enrich our memories, foster our dreams and support us in our sorrow.
