Obituary of Anne Marie Pagnotta
Anne died on April 2 at age 83 from complications of a pulmonary embolism. Mass of Christian Burial to be held Monday, April 10 at 10:30 A.M. with visitation one hour prior at the Church of the Holy Family in Saint Louis Park, MN. Anne will be laid to rest alongside her husband of 51 years at Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Anne's name to The Pillars Hospice Home, Oakdale, MN.
After suffering many years from the disabling effects of post-polio syndrome as a survivor of the polio epidemic of 1949, Anne died peacefully in hospice with children and grandchildren around her bed and with her in spirit. She is preceded in death just 11 months earlier by her husband Domenico Antonio; parents Percival Ernest and Agnes Catherine Thayer; sisters Marie Portel and Judy Nowak; brothers John (Genevieve), Richard and Jerome Thayer. She is survived by her three children, Vincent (Dana), Stephen and Maria (Tom) Graff; fifteen grandchildren, Paige, Emily (beloved surrogate grandchild), Vinny, Tommy, Jacinta, Johnny, Teresa, Marguerite, Gianna, Matthew, Sarah, Gianna, Daniel, Anthony and Bridget; sister-in-law Ellen Thayer; brother-in-law Don Nowak; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family offers a very special thank you to all the family and friends who visited Anne during her years of being a near shut-in due to her handicap, especially during the past year of solitude spent as a widow. We are also eternally grateful to all the caring and considerate staff at The Pillars Hospice for their tender loving care of our mother during her last days and their support of us in our sorrow.
Please pray for Anne’s soul, as she will for yours, “that we may merrily meet in heaven.” May you rest in peace, Mom. We miss you and love you dearly.
