Obituary of Barbara Jean DeRosia Wahl

Barbara Jean DeRosia Wahl, 73, died peacefully in her home on Monday April 3, 2017, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was born in Superior, July 29, 1943. She was the 15th blessing to her parents William and Myrtle DeRosia. Barb was a woman of faith. Her relationship with the Lord was an inspiration to everyone she met. She loved sharing her faith, studying and reading her Bible and encouraging others in their faith. Barb loved life to the fullest. She enjoyed everything from traveling, warm,sunny days, sharing coffee with her friends, movie nights with her son Rob and his family, lunch and antique shopping with her favorite daughter Cindy, Pro-Life Walks with her grandson Jon, listening to her grandson Joel sing and play the piano, and spending special time with all of her children and grandchildren. She loved trying new things and was always up for an adventure. Recently she went horseback riding, tree climbing, parasailing with her grandson Jacob, and on a cross country trip with her sister Rose. Barb's sense of humor, her amazing smile, bright eyes and the sound of her laughter made everyone she knew love her all the more. Barb has been reunited with her beloved son, Stuart John; husband, Tom Wahl; parents, William and Myrtle DeRosia; sisters and brothers, Bernadine Sletten, Edward Eugene DeRosia, Margaret DeRosia, Theresa Crane, Richard DeRosia, Patricia Gough, Loretta Greer and Rita DeRosia. Barb will be greatly missed by her children, Dianna "DeeDee" Sanderson (Jack), Fox River Grove, Ill., Cindy Erickson, Maple Grove, Minn., Rob Erickson (Sharon), Marine on St. Croix, Minn.; granchildren, Jonathan Smith, Maple Grove, Minn., Joel Smith Chicago, Ill., Bridgette Sanderson, Hoffman Estates, Ill., Jacob Smith, Fox River Grove, Ill., Elya Smith, Chicago, Ill., Jacqueline Sanderson, Fox River Grove, Ill., Jordan Erickson, Noblesville, Ind., Claire Cheasick, Marine on St. Croix, Minn., Grace Erickson, Eau Claire, Wis., Emily Cheasick, Marine on St. Croix, Minn.; sisters and brothers, Anna Mae Routh, Helen Wolfe, William DeRosia, Lois Langfitt, Dorothy Scott, Rose Ranthum, James DeRosia; many nieces, nephews, cousins, step children, step grandchildren and friends. VISITATION: 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Monday, April 24, in the Cremation Society of MN Duluth, 4100 Grand Ave. Inurnment and graveside service will be held at a later date.
