Obituary of John H. Moody

John H. Moody, 87, of Duluth, died on April 4, 2017. John was born on Dec. 6, 1929 to Olaf and Esther Moody. He attended East High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in May 1955. John steamed ore for the DM&IR, traveled all over the United States except Hawaii and raced cars at the Proctor and Hibbing Speedways. He also owned and operated John's Conoco from 1966-1977. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Grace; brothers, Carl and Donny; nieces and nephews, Bonnie, Mark, Scott and long-time girlfriend Charlotte. John is survived by his nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Carl, Rory, Kay, Susan, Sally, Sandy, Sherri, Sean and Steve; great-nieces and nephews, Tanya, Patrick, Amanda, Brandon, Jarrett and Brock; great-great-nieces and nephews, Kaylee Kaden, Tammy, Faith, Allidia, Maranda, Riley and Freja.
