Obituary of Robert Chamberland

Robert Chamberland, age 79 years 11 months, died peacefully with family at his side on April 5, 2017, from a very courageous 6 year battle against cancer. Bob was born on May 6, 1937 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Bob and wife Karen moved to USA in 1962 and had two children. Preceded in death by daughter, Sandra (1982). Survived by wife, Karen; son, Chris (Tausha) and grandkids, Amber (16) and April (13). Also in support was a plethora of friends which meant so much to Bob, he truly was very rich with friendships from everyone. He was a salesman by trade, a great husband, father, grandpa and truly a charm to be around. Bob enjoyed his time with the Golden Valley Optimist Club, Rolling Green Country Club (Medina), Saint Andrews Golf Club (Edinburgh USA) and booking travel for all his friends at the travel agencies he once owned and then worked at. Bob had a great knack for giving people a great experience meeting them with a few jokes, spreading his kind words and fun environment wherever he went. No grouchy old man here, everyone seemed to love to hang around “Chamby” as they called him. Memorial luncheon from 11am-1pm, April 25 at Chanhassen American Legion, 290 Lake Drive East, Chanhassen MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Salvation Army.
