Obituary of Margaret Amundson
Margaret (Cornell) Amundson, 88, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in St. Luke's Hospital.
Margaret was born in Duluth on Oct. 18, 1928 to Melvin and Margaret Cornell.
She graduated from Central High School in 1946.
Margaret married Roy Amundson on Aug. 10, 1946 and started a family.
Roy and Margaret were married for 70 years.
"Puddy", as her brother named her, worked for the Woodland Waiting Station and Falk's Drug Store.
She was a hard worker and loved gardening, raising chickens, flowers, and baking cookies for her family. She loved playing volleyball in her younger years and continued to meet with her dear friends once a year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Margaret Cornell and her brother, Gerald Smith.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Roy Amundson; daughter, Alycia (Jim) Gilbertson; son, Steve Amundson; son, Jim (Kelly) Amundson; grandchildren, Cory Gilbertson; Derik (Amy) Gilbertson; Krista Fodera; Jessica Amundson; Jarrod Amundson; Amanda Amundson; Kiel (Holly) Amundson; and Katie Amundson.
Grandma Puddy loved to see her five great grandchildren.
GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. Memorial Service on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in the Cremation Society of Duluth chapel.
Coffee and dessert will be served after the service.
