Obituary of Adalou Orpha Gardner

Adalou "Ada" Orpha Gardner, age 91, passed peacefully on April 7, 2017. Born October 6, 1925, She was preceded in death by husband Robert Gardner, son in law Gerald Rice and sisters Delores and Joyce. Survived by her three children, daughters Victoria Rice, Stephanie Loney (Kevin), and son Kevin Gardner. She loved her 5 grandchildren, Leah Hines (John), Adam Rice (Tracie), Ryan Rice (Rachael), Carrie Gardner and Timothy Gardner. Along with her 8 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Zachary Hines, Ashley and Morgan Rice, Mia Gardner Heggelman, Zoe Gardner Smith, Lucas and Addison Rice. Also, her Nephew Robert Godfrey. Ada was a very active individual. She was in the original Roller Derby in the early 1940's, loved to long blade ice skate at the Minneapolis Arena. Later in her life, she looked forward to playing cards with her friends at the Bloomington Community Center. Her love of friends and devotion to her family, made her a special person who exuded her energetic personality to all. She will be sorely missed. A memorial gathering for family & friends will be held on April 21, 2-4 PM at The Cremation Society of MN, Edina @ 7110 France Ave. S. A private interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
