Kildahl, Scott E.
Age 86, of Bloomington, died Apr. 9, 2017, released peacefully from Alzheimer’s Disease in his sleep. Preceded in death by parents, siblings and son, Scott Jr. Survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Bettilou; daughter, Cheryl (Russell) Curtis; son, Joel (Mary) Kildahl; daughter-in-law, Debra; grandchildren Matthew (Sarah) Curtis and Holly Kildahl; great-grandchild Summer Curtis; and other dear family members. Scott was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Upon completing his service, he went to work for Northern States Power in Mpls. and later Fargo, retiring in 1988 after 35 years, having risen from order clerk to manager of business operations and government affairs. A man for all seasons and of great wit, Scott was devoted to his family and community. Among his many endeavors, he served as a Mpls. Aquatennial vice commodore; reader for the blind on the MN Radio Talking Book Network; key fundraising executive for the United Way; president of the Fargo Chamber of Commerce; executive director of Hospice of the Red River Valley; and he greatly enjoyed thespian pursuits on the Fargo Moorhead Community Theater stage. Visitation 10 AM Thursday followed by 11 AM Memorial Service at Cremation Society of Minnesota, Edina Chapel, 7110 France Ave. Private interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
