Obituary of Donald L. Schelinder

Donald L. Schelinder, 76, of Oliver, Wis. passed away peacefully April 10, 2017 in St. Luke's Hospital with family by his side. Don was born April 19, 1940 to Herbert and Luetta Schelinder in Sandy Lake. The family jokester, singer and storyteller, Don loved singing karaoke, four-wheeling and the hunting shack, but most of all he loved his family. He was a hardworking man for 60 years and enjoyed his retirement. Don is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Luetta Schelinder, brothers LeRoy and Ronald Schelinder; and sister Barbara Rossberg. Don is survived by his wife, Jean, of 41 years; brother Robert (Linda) Schelinder of Monticello; sister Beverly (Kenny) Marquette of Buffalo; six children, Mitchell (Sharon) Schelinder of Cedar Point, N.C., Robyn (Julie) Schelinder of Superior, Wis., Dawn "Toots" (Murry) Schelinder of Duluth, Jason (Angie) Schelinder of Superior, Heather (Shawn) Schelinder of Oliver, Susan (Brandon) Berge of Monticello and four-legged daughter Abby; eight grandchildren, Savannah (Justin), Morgan (Ross), Isaac (Alyssa), Haley (Caylan), Kayla, Josh (Gwen), Jayson "JT" and Dylan; five great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Jensen, Oliver, Gunnar and Rowyn; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and very dear friend Ray Woodall. VISITATION: 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. Celebration of Life on Sunday, April 23 in Oak Lake Lutheran Church, Kerrick, Minn. Rev. Nathan Anderson will officiate. Lunch with family and friends will be at Borders Sports Bar following the service.
