Obituary of John Phillip Pelkey

John Phillip Pelkey, of Duluth, passed away on September 9, 2018, after a brief battle of cancer, surrounded by his family. John was born on December 31, 1946 to Raymond and Ruth Pelkey in Hutchinson, MN. John served in the Navy with two tours of Vietnam from 1965-1967. He was a carpenter with the Local 361. John loved his family and friends, loved to fish, gardening, Grain Belt and bonfires. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Shirley Nelson. John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary, children: Nikki (Marc) Roberts, Julie (Brett) Nordman, Phil (Marisol) Pelkey, grandchildren: Samantha (Nick), Jeff, Lucas (Jennifer), Chris, Gabby (Adam), Ashlee, A'lshah, Isaac, great-grandchildren, Little B and Rj, Siblings: Bob (Teresa), Howard (Colleen), Ross (Teresa), Rolf (David), Russell, Jim (Linda) Radabaugh, John (Pat) Radabaugh, Mark (Leslie) Radabaugh, Kathy (Steve) Strom, Dave (Betty) Radabaugh, Charlie (Kim) Radabaugh, Carol (Roger) Tatge; many nieces, nephews and their children. Many cousins and special bff: Terry Mehling. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN.
