Obituary of Timothy M. McNeely
Age 58, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2017.
Born in St. Paul, MN on Dec. 26, 1958.
Preceded in death by mother, Kay; brother, Steve and grandparents. Tim is survived by father, Jim; sisters Theresa Snodie, Barb Whaley, Nancy (Dave) Lovick and brother, Mike (Amy). Also nieces and nephews, whose accomplishments made Tim very proud, Breanna (Luke), Melissa, Matt, Jack, Jordan, Adam, Connor and Olivia, as well as many aunts and cousins.
Tim graduated from Kellogg High School in Roseville in 1977. He then graduated from Mankato University with a degree in communications. After college, Tim worked at Gillette Hospital in the Public Relations Department. Unable to function physically any longer, he retired in 1990.
Our heartfelt thanks to Whitey Aus and Bruce Rollie, two high school coaches who included Tim in their programs as a statistician. Despite being wheelchair-bound due to his Muscular Dystrophy, Tim found acceptance and formed valuable friendships with the athletes and fellow students.
Our family is very grateful to Health Partners Hospice staff, especially nurses, Mary and Denise. Also, Communities of Care Nursing that took care of Tim at home 24/7 for many years; Tim's nurse of 19 years, Christine; and Steve Forliti of Anderson Wheelchair. A special thanks to Dr. Kelly Frisch, Dr. Jim Risser and the staff of the MICU at Regions Hospital.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 8th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Odilia's Catholic Church in Shoreview.
There will be a visitation 1-1/2 hours prior to Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Health Partners Hospice or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
