Obituary of Marilyn S. O’Brien

Marilyn S. O'Brien, 82, of Superior WI passed away May 4, 2017, at home, with her family by her side. She was born September 2, 1934 in Duluth, MN to Theodore C. and Phoebe S. Swanson. Marilyn graduated from Denfeld High School in 1953. She married Francis "Frank" O'Brien and made her home on Dowling Lake in Superior where she raised their children. She then moved to Amnicon Lake in Superior. Marilyn worked for St. Francis nursing home in Billings Park where she had many friends. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, ceramics, skating and her lake property. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis and her son, Leonard. She will be sadly missed by her children, Debra Kagie, Rob (Kim) O'Brien, Jodine O'Brien, Frank O'Brien, Wendy (Brian) Homstad, and Cindy (Paul) Taraldsen; grandchildren, Jacob Kagie, Joshua Kagie, Angel Kagie, Coaty O'Brien, Francis O'Brien ( Elysia Brandt), Westly Petite, Quinton Homstad, Emily Homstad; great-grandchildren, Jackson Kagie, Orianna O'Brien; and her sister, Susan (James) Claus. Gathering of family and friends from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service Monday, May 15th at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, 218-624-5200.
