Obituary of Marjorie Getsch

Age 101 of Chanhassen passed away May 6, 2017 surrounded by family. Preceded in death by parents Glen and Ella Dye; brother Harry Dye; Daughter-in-law Connie Getsch; and husband William C. (Bill) Getsch. Marj and Bill were major supporters of Bethel University. Their home on Lake Minnewashta was a dream come true. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved gardening and flowers – especially African Violets. Music was an important part of her life – she played the cello for many years. She was a long-time member of Colonial Church of Edina, and Coral Ridge Presb. Church of Ft. Lauder-dale, FL - singing in their choirs, and supporting their music departments. Westwood Community in Excelsior has been her church home since 1998. Marj sent out a daily blog on her IPad up until last year. Survived by sister Amy Knopf (99); sons: David (Dianne) Getsch; Edward (Nancy) Getsch; Thomas (Marilyn) Getsch; John Getsch; 14 Grand Children; and 19 Great Grand Children. Memorial Service Friday, May 12, 2017 at Westwood Community Church, 3121 Westwood Dr. Excelsior, MN 55331. 10:00 AM Visitation; 11:00 Memorial Service followed by lunch at the church.
