Obituary of Margaret “Marge” Hansen

Margaret "Marge" (Harney) Hansen, 79 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 25th, 2018 at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN after suffering a stroke. She was born on January 29th, 1939 in Duluth, MN to Mildred & Cloud Harney. She married her husband Clem Hansen in 1958 and they were blessed with three daughters. Family was the most important thing to her and to whom she was tremendously beloved. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was employed at the Center for Alcohol & Drug Treatment for over thirty years, retiring only a year and a half ago. There, she developed many close friendships with co-workers who she loved dearly. She loved living life to the fullest, traveling, cute shoes, funky earrings and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Clem Hansen, sister Vivian Wotruba, and granddaughter Jody Elden. She is survived by her siblings Leo Harney and Paul (Emma) Harney; daughters Colleen (Tim) Ecklund, Kathy Elden, and Char Royer; grandchildren Nicole (Jeff) Harriman, Rachelle Settambrino, Cullen Rostveit, Kyle (Jon) Heyesen, Kacey Elden, Andy Elden (Jon Radtke), Lindsey Ecklund, Reigh Royer; ten great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Open House Reception & Celebration of Life: Wednesday, August 1st, 2018, 4-6 pm with a short service honoring her life at 5 pm at the Duluth Cremation Society 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN 55807.
