Obituary of John ‘Jack William Sheedy
Who was the Jack we all knew and continue to love? Jack was an athlete. He played football, wrestled and ran his first marathon at the ripe age of 50 and his last at the amazing age of 65. Jack was a leader. He was a class president, not just once, but twice. His leadership began in high school (New London, Connecticut) and continued to the Coast Guard Academy, where he graduated with a degree in Engineering. An honorable discharge from the US Coast Guard lead to his career in commercial real estate, property management, served on the Duluth City Council and Duluth Port Authority. Jack was a family man. Your "kiddos" will never forget comforting saturday morning phone calls, being a great Friday night hockey date, card games, baking, sleepovers, your big hugs, being our unconditional supporter <3 Jack was many things in life that will be treasured! Jack was a great and loyal friend: He enjoyed a good joke and steak. Proud Irish man til the end, missed those who knew and loved him! Jack from all of your children,grandchildren and friends, "for the rest of our lives we will search for moments of you". Jack will have a family service at Fort Snelling. Survived By: brother Robert Sheedy & four children David Sheedy, Lisa Schadewald, Pam Nippa and Jana Sheedy-Curiel.Including 10 grandchildren, Kellen and Patrick Sheedy; Nathan and Kristina Schadewald; Alexa, Ashley and Rachel Nippa; Antonio, Alejandro and Gabriella Curiel .
