Obituary of Miriam Metsala
Miriam Metsala, 97, of Superior, formerly of Maple, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Golden Living Center in Superior.
She was born on June 19, 1919 in Ironwood, Michigan to Walter and Ida Lehtinen. Miriam graduated from McGregor, Minnesota High School and then graduated from the Duluth School of Business with a degree in Bookkeeping. She went to Ontonagon, Michigan to work at the local co-op as a bookkeeper. After marrying Lawrence Metsala, she moved to Chicago, Illinois and began raising a family. In 1961, she moved to Maple, Wisconsin and began working at the Maple Co-op.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence and her daughters Nancy and Patsy.
Miriam is survived by a son, Larry (Sandra) Metsala and one grandson, Paul Metsala.
Miriam always put the needs of her family and friends above her own. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A private burial will be in the Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery on the original family plot in Maple, Wisconsin. Cremation Society of Minnesota 218-624-5200
