Obituary of Donelda Ries

Donelda "Donna" Ries passed with peace and grace on May 18, surrounded by all of her children. Predeceased by her loving husband Gregory in 1995. Survived by her seven children and their spouses and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donna "Ma" was the matriarch of her family. She had an open door and open heart policy, if you loved her people, she loved you without judgement or question. She loved a good football game, was a master at crypto script, and couldn’t resist an afternoon binge watching Law and Order. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Ma was filled with love but quick witted too. “Shut up” or “Dry up” she would holler followed by a huge grin. She left us beautiful memories, her love is still our guide. A visitation will be held at St. Nicholas Church in New Market on Wednesday, May 24th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m..
