Obituary of Carol Ann Olson

Age 80 of Sandstone passed away peacefully on May 23rd, 2017. Carol was born on August 20, 1936. She graduated from Sandstone High School in 1954 and was routinely seen riding on her class float for Quarry Days. She married Wilbert “Buzz” Olson on June 22, 1957. Carol met Buzz when they were 12 years old when Carol moved in a couple doors down from Buzz. They were high school sweethearts and their married life took them to many places every two years as Buzz was enlisted with Navy. She eventually moved back to Sandstone with Susan and Sharon after the passing of her mother in 1973. She then helped her brother manage the Ben Franklin family business while Buzz finished out his military obligations. She enjoyed working at the Ben Franklin and was very active with the Grace Lutheran Church for many years to follow. Carol was survived by her husband, Buzz; her daughters, Susan Glienke, Sharon Olson; her grandchildren, Holly Glienke, Kelly (Barret) Van Sicklen; and great grandchildren, Owen Van Sicklen, Harvey Van Sicklen.
