Obituary of Wallace Ericksmoen
Wallace James Ericksmoen, 69, born and raised in Gary-New Duluth died peacefully Friday, May 26, at the Minnesota Veteran's Home in Silver Bay.
Wally was born in Duluth, Sept. 10, 1947 to Clifford and Anne Ericksmoen. Wally was a 1965 graduate of Morgan Park High School and an Air Force veteran, serving as a radio relay mechanic in Greece. He was a graduate of Duluth Vo-Tech in carpentry. Throughout his life, he worked a wide variety of jobs from the Foundry -Diamond Tool-Diamond Match-Munger Trucking. He was also a self-employed contractor, "Wally's Remodeling".
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; uncles, Walter, George, Bill; aunts, Loreen, Hilma, Edith, Adeline, Sister Alma and Mary.
Wally is survived by his mother Anne; daughter Stephanie; brother Lawrence (Colleen); sister Sharon (Dave) Johnson; nieces Katie Hoglund, Kori (Andy) Shepard; great nephews and nieces Jack, Zachary, Aubrey Hoglund, Ella and Briggs Shepard, and many relatives.
He had a passion for woodworking and puzzle making. He loved to bake for his family, joke around, listen to music, watch old movies, garden, hunt and fish. Wally was a loving son and father, attentive to his parents and family. He left behind a close knit family that will forever keep his memory in their hearts and lives to come.
The Ericksmoen family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of the Veteran's Home for their compassionate love and support.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday June 3rd from 10 am- Noon at the Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to: Minnesota Veteran's Home 56 Outer Drive, Silver Bay, MN 55614
