Carol Larsen

Obituary of Carol L. Larsen

Carol Louise Larsen, 61, of Duluth, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, May 28th, 2017 surrounded by family and close friends at Essentia Health after a well fought battle with cancer. Carol was born in Duluth, Minnesota on March 31, 1956 to Ronald and Norma (Laine) Larsen. She graduated from Duluth East High School in 1974. She worked as a health unit coordinator at St. Luke's while attending Duluth Vo-Tech for her LPN degree. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital Birth Place for 37 years before retiring in 2014. Carol loved the scenic outdoors, always with a camera in hand never to miss a photo opportunity. She had a love for animals, especially the ones out her own back door that relied on her for their daily feedings. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her sweetheart Bill cheering on the UMD Bull Dogs Hockey teams, Duluth Huskies, Minnesota Twins and Vikings. She devoted much of her life caring for her sister Lorri. Carol loved children and although she had none of her own, she enjoyed spending time with many of the children of her co-workers as well as her niece and nephew Brooke and Matt who she loved to spoil every chance she could. Carol was kind, compassionate and generous to all and never expected anything in return. She had a beautiful smile that will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald J. and Norma H. Larsen and recently the love of her life, Bill Shannon. Carol is survived by her sister Lorri; brother Jack (Michelle), niece Brooke (DJ), nephew Matt; great-nephew Nash; best friend Peggy Douville and many close friends. A visitation will be held from 10 am until the 11 am Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Central Assemble of God, 3000 Hammond Ave., Superior, WI. with Pastor Tom Miller officiating.
