Obituary of Dennis Cahill

Dennis "Denny" Cahill, age 75, of Detroit Lakes, died peacefully on May 29th, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Larry" and Cunigunda Cahill. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, his children; Mary Rudeen (Andy), Paul Cahill (Maureen) Colleen Brown (Scott), step children, Elena Bradshaw (John) and Walter Nestell and brother Kevin Cahill and his adoring grandchildren; Megan, Alli, Alexa, Lizi, Malia, step-grandchil-dren Gregory, Christina, Ava and step-great grandchild, Madison. He was our sunshine and will be forever loved and always in our hearts. Denny served in the U.S. Navy and was an avid sportsman and loyal Minnesota sports fan. Hunting, fishing, coaching hockey in Monticello and raising and training Labrador Retrievers were among his passions. Denny was an active member of his local amateur (ham) radio club in the Detroit Lakes area. Denny's life will be celebrated at a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, 16400 Duluth Ave SE in Prior Lake, Minnesota, 55372 on Tuesday, June 6th at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Private interment immediately following at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
