Obituary of Roger Willmar Tiede

Roger Willmar Tiede, 74, died peacefully on June 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Prague, Minnesota, on June 10, 1942. Roger is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita Tiede; his son, Travis Tiede and daughter-in-law Larissa Tiede; and grandsons, Jackson and Riley Tiede. He was preceded in death by his son, Erik Tiede; parents, Willmar and Delores Tiede; and his siblings, Oren Tiede, Marion (Tiede) Anderson and Jennie (Tiede) Richgels. Roger will be deeply missed by his many friends and his family. He had a generous spirit, love for life and strong commitment to his family and faith. Roger loved traveling, playing the guitar, woodworking and spending time with his two cats, Rocky and Muffy. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-64. Roger was an engineer and business owner until his retirement. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 19, with a 10 a.m. visitation, at Faith Lutheran Church, 335 Main St., Hutchinson. Private interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
