Obituary of Susan Dianne Adams
Adams, Susan Dianne, of Minneapolis, was born on June 7, 1945, in Minneapolis, MN. Although she traveled extensively for missions and pleasure, she spent her life as a Minnesota resident. On June 7, 2017, Susan went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 72 years.
She is survived by daughter-in-law Molly Adams (widow of son Timothy), sons Todd (Holly) Adams, and Ty (Audra) Adams; grandchildren: Ashley, Aleythea, Grant, Elisha, Evangeline, Josiah, Grace, Charles, Henry, and Hannah; siblings: Larry (Cathy) Heltemes, Richard (Paulette) Heltemes, Linda Dotseth, Peggy Heltemes, Nancy (Jeff) Warwas, David (Angie) Heltemes, James (Linda), Heltemes, Joyce (Greg) Englar; along with many nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Adams; son, Timothy Adams; and her parents, James and Beatrice Heltemes.
Susan attended North Central Bible College in 1963 where she met her husband. She held a variety of jobs over the years, the most important being stay-at-home mother to her three boys and wife and confidant of her husband, who served as an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. While pastoring churches, their family lived in several Minnesota towns including Montevideo, Northfield, Coon Rapids, and Ortonville. Other positions she held over her lifetime included Reader and Typist at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Accounting Department at the Dayton’s Department Store, Swing Manager at McDonald’s, Word Processor at Milbank Insurance Company, Operations Secretary and Claims Representative at Royal and State Auto Insurance, and most recently, Credentials Coordinator at the Minnesota District Council for the Assemblies of God for fifteen years.Susan was passionate about her relationship with the Lord. She was His faithful servant since accepting Christ into her heart at an early age. She served Jesus through Teen Bible Quizzing (as competitor in her youth and judge in her adult years), Missionettes leader, puppet ministry, kids crusades around the United States, and at Lake Geneva Christian Center. More important than her volunteer work, Susan’s tattered and marked up bible and journals full of prayer lists testify to her close and personal relationship with Jesus, her dearly loved and deeply needed friend.
Her home-going celebration will be held on Thursday, June 15 at 11 AM at Cedar Valley Church, 8600 Bloomington Ave., Bloomington, MN.
