Obituary of Henry Blaszkiewicz
Henry Blaszkiewicz, 83, of Duluth passed away peacefully at home on Saturday June 10th. Henry was born in 1933 in Jamaica, Long Island, NY. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and retired in 1972 from the former Duluth Air Force base. During his time in the service he spent time stationed in New York, England, Maine, Turkey, Florida and here in Duluth. It was during his first of two times being stationed in England that he met his wife of 61 years, Sheila. After retiring from the service, he worked for St. Louis County for more than 20 years at Nopeming Nursing Home. First as the in house meat cutter, and later as the store keeper.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Jessie; sister, Patrica (Vito) Tutulle; brother, William (Marie); and grandson, Timothy. He is survived by his wife, Sheila; son, Gary (Teri) of Saint Augustine, FL; son, Rick of Duluth; son, Glenn (Erin Marple) of Duluth; Sister in laws, Marjorie Rogers and Barbra Dew of England; Brother in law John (Mary) Chapman of Duluth. Per his wishes, no public service will be held. A family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
