Obituary of Dorothy Martin

Dorothy Lillian Martin, born July 22, 1923, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, at Superior Nursing Home. Born to George and Lillian Martin, Dorothy grew up in Middle River, WI, attended Rockmont Elementary School, Superior Central High School, Superior Teachers College (art), and Superior School of Vocational and Adult Education (electric welding), before moving to Milwaukee to attend the Milwaukee Vocational School (arc welding). Dorothy graduated from the University of WI/Madison where she received a BS degree in applied art. She continued her specialty and occupation as a welder with the Beloit Vocational, Technical and Adult School and Department of Trade and Industry. Dorothy retired after a long career as a welder from Fairbans-Morse in Beloit, WI. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers George, Russell, Howard, Robert and Curtis, sisters Doris and Carol, and Ed Blazek, long time friend and companion. Dorothy is survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends and caretakers Chris and Dale Traaholt. Interment will be in the family lot in Parkview Cemetery in Hawthorne, WI at a future date.
